HOPKINS, C.M.*

Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia 30314 USA 1

Abstract:
I will discuss the initial results of a survey of the environmental programs at the 106 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs)from across the United States. The survey, entitled Baseline 2000, attempts to demonstrate the need for increased efforts to involve African Americans in the environmental movement. Dr. Hopkins will also discuss the faculty development, campus sustainability, and community outreach activities resulting from the six year partnership between Second Nature, Inc. and the HBCU/MI Consortium.
