Our goals with TIEE are to (1) help ecology faculty to improve their teaching and include more inquiry, active learning, scientific thinking, collaborative group work, innovative assessment, formative evaluation, and advanced instructional technology, (2) build upon ESA member expertise in ecology education research and reform, peer-review, and communication to better serve the teaching scholarship needs of ecology faculty, and (3) help ecology faculty create and improve peer-reviewed educational materials that can be used in reappointment and promotion files. To date we have published three TIEE volumes spanning a wide range of ecological phenomena. This poster will describe these materials, and demonstrate the site design, functionality, and evaluation data. In addition, we will explain how you might become more involved as either an author or reviewer of new TIEE submissions as we grow this resource to support and enhance ESA's international community of ecological educators. Key words: ecological education, student-active teaching and learning, scientific teaching, pedagogy |
