International Migration and Environment. Social, political, cultural and environmental impacts.

ABSTRACT- A century of migratory experience between Mexico and the United States have left a remarkable impact in the relation whom the Mexican migrants with the environment. They are the drive belt by where products flow, seeds, plants, animals, machinery, tools. They are also those that contribute novel ideas, those that introduce new practices, those that have known and learned different forms to use, to depredate or to be related to the resources and the nature. Finally, the migrantes are fundamental actors in the local policy, in tens of thousands of Mexican towns. There their opinions and their experiences count and in some cases an initial process is perceived of which it would be a new ecological conscience that has derived in processes from recovery and defense from the local ecosystems. The work tries to make one first evaluation of the relation between migration and environment in the Mexican case and this must be understood in two-way traffic, the changes in the environment that can generate migration and the impacts, of diverse type and reaches, of the migratory phenomenon in the environment.
SPANISH ABSTRACT- Un siglo de experiencia migratoria entre M鸩co y Estados Unidos han dejado un impacto notable en la relació® ±ue establecen los migrantes mexicanos con el medio ambiente. Ellos son la correa de transmisió® °or donde fluyen productos, semillas, plantas, animales, maquinaria, herramientas. Son tambié® los que aportan ideas novedosas, los que introducen nuevas prᣴicas, los que han conocido y aprendido diferentes formas de utilizar, depredar o relacionarse con el medio y la naturaleza. Finalmente, los migrantes son actores fundamentales en la polí´©ca local, en decenas de miles de poblados mexicanos. Allí ³us opiniones y sus experiencias cuentan y en algunos casos se percibe un proceso inicial de lo que serí¡ una nueva conciencia ecol󧩣a que ha derivado en procesos de recuperació® ¹ defensa de los ecosistemas locales. El trabajo pretende hacer una primera evaluació® ¤e la relació® ¥ntre migració® ¹ medio ambiente en el caso mexicano y esta debe entenderse en dos sentidos, los cambios en el medio ambiente que pueden generar migració® ¹ los impactos, de diverso tipo y alcance, del fenó¥®o migratorio en el medio ambiente .
