LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this meeting, participants should be able to:

  • Describe results of recent clinical trials involving hyperthermia
  • Describe the basic science underlying cellular damage and response to radiation and hyperthermia exposure
  • Describe new approaches and techniques in radiation, thermal, and gene therapies
  • Define issues related to tumor hypoxia, tumor angiogenesis, and normal tissue response
  • Identify issues in radiation risk assessment
  • Describe possible molecular targets for translational clinical trials
