ABSTRACT- An experiment was conducted to evaluate the adverse effect of endosulfan on important testicular enzymes of black Bengal bucks(Capra hircus).Bucks were fed concentrate containing endosulfan 12.5 and 37.5 mg/day/buck(i.e. 50 and 150 ppm) for 75 days. The testicles were removed aseptically for enzymatic analysis. Significant reduction (P<0.01) in the activity of hyaluronidase on 150 ppm endosulfan and dose dependent decrease (P<0.01) in the activity of acid phosphatase activity was observed. However, the activities of acetylcholine esterase, lactic dehydrogenase, succinic dehydrogenase were not affected significantly. It was concluded that endosulfan affect the reproductive health by changes in the enzyme activities related to spermatogenesis.

Key words: bucks, endosulfan, testicular enzyme
