(PH123) Multiresidues Extraction and Determination of Pesticides in Honey Bees.

EL-Saeid, M1, Saleh, M1, 1 Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas, USA

ABSTRACT- A multiresidue of Solid Phase Extraction (SPE), Microwave Solvent Extraction (MSE) and GC/ECD method was developed for the determination of 25 pesticides (Chlorinated Herbicides, Pyrethroids and Organochlorine) in honey bee samples collected from Egypt. The SPE method was conducted by Florisil and C18 cartridges and eluted by hexane and ethyl acetate (9:1vv). In the MSE method, acetone hexane (3:2vv) was used to extract the samples. Extraction time of both techniques was 15 min. The determination time of the three groups of pesticide residues analyzed in honey samples by the GC/ECD method was about 25 min. The Minimum Detection Limits (MDL) of chlorinated Herbicides, Pyrethroids and Organochlorine were 0.02, 0.04 and 0.001 ppm respectively.

Key words: Honey Bees, Pesticides
