PT13 Aquatic Ecotoxicology I (PT195) Chronic Toxicity to Daphnia magna of a Light senstive compound under flow-through conditions. Handley, J1, Wetton, P 1, McKenzie, J1, Roulstone, P, 1 Safepharm Laboratories Ltd, Derby, UK ABSTRACT- As part of a Level 1 Notification in Europe a chronic toxicity test with Daphnia magna was undertaken. The chemical, a stilbene-triazine, was shown to be unstable in aqueous conditions when exposed to light. Thus a flow-through test was conducted. This poster presents a low cost flow-through test apparatus used to maintain near nominal test concentrations during the study and also describes the different feeding trials used during the vlaidation of the test apparatus. Key words: Daphnia magna, Chronic toxicity, Flow-through conditions |
