ABSTRACT- In this study, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is used as a tool to investigate the environmental impact of cement manufacturing process in India. Energy efficiency and conservation is one of the most important sources of enhancing energy availability in cement sector. The study covered the impact during various production and pre-production stages like raw material acquisition and power requirement along with the main cement manufacturing process. The power consumption and emission rates were calculated on the basis of the optimal conditions and emission factors. Optimization was carried out to select the most suitable condition with an objective of minimizing associated wastes during the process.

Key words: Cement, LCA
