PH19 Biomonitoring (PH228A) Plant Cover Dynamics and Ornithofauna of Naturally Technogenic Complexes of Sulphuric Deposits of Prykarpattya Region, Ukraine. Yaremyn, G, ABSTRACT- Fundamental technogenic landscape elements are quarries, exterior waste piles of covering rocks, sludge ponds, drainage systems, technical reservoirs, etc. The purpose of the research is to carry out the comparative analysis of successive change of plant cover and to study grouping formation of birds on technogenic landscapes of sulphur extracting enterprises of Lviv region. These researches have been carried out since 1993 till 2002 on the territory of sludge ponds and drainage system of state mining enterprise "Sirka". These technogenic objects located between Yavoriv town and Novoyavorivsk town (Yavoriv area of Lviv region) are the main and the largest reservoirs consisting in "Choglynskyy" ornithological reserve. The main relief forming elements are valleys of the Shklo river and the Gnoenets river with numerous tributaries which flow together into the Vyshnya river and fall into the Syan river (Baltic basin). During the research according to the generally accepted methods the plant cover successive dynamics of coastal and literal zones has been studied and it has been conducted observation to ornithofauna and change of coastal line of water stretch of drainage system. Ornithofauna structure has been analyzed by methods of pentade calculation and also by means of birds catching and birds ringing during the migration process since 1995 till 2002. For ecosystem dynamics models definition at first the territory has been classified by criterions which represent plant cover modern condition as follows: specific structure, location and general projective cover. By means of comparison of the received data of plant cover condition with result of ornithofauna monitoring during 9 years it has been worked out landscape transformation phased scheme. In the research it has been determined that primary successions of mezophytic and hyhrophitic vegetation on technogenic landscapes of sulphuric deposits of Prekarpattya to be directed to formation of dynamic balance between biota and environment are accompanied by forming of sufficiently productive stable groups. Vegetation and ornithofauna dynamics analysis shows parallelism and interrelationship of completing set of ecological niches of authotrophic and heterotrophic blocks. Nature of phytocenotic cover and peculiarities of reservoir water regime determine quantitative and qualitative structure of birds grouping, gradually eliminating "casual" species. It has been determined that the formation of biogenocenotic cover of landscape technogenic components of sulphur extracting enterprise is conducted mainly by species of indigenous flora, fauna and it also has zone nature. It has also been revealed that direction and dynamics of succession could change essentially depending on nature and intensity of anthropogenic influence. It has been displayed that during succession the specific variety was increasing, vertical structure of phytocenosis was becoming complicated and projective cover and productivity were also extending.
