ABSTRACT- Atmospheric samples were collected at three Saskatchewan locations, during 2003 and 2004, as part of a national monitoring network measuring currently-used pesticides. High-volume air samples were collected at 1-m height at two sites, Waskesiu and Hafford, and at three elevations, 1, 10 and 30 m, at Bratts L. In addition dry/wet deposition samples were collected at 1 and 30 m elevations at Bratts L. Passive samplers were also employed at 10 and 30 m heights at Bratts L. to determine if these are useful for sampling currently-used pesticides. Vertical and horizontal spatial and temporal trends will be presented. The implications of atmospheric concentrations of these pesticides for long-range atmospheric transport to other regions will be discussed.

Key words: herbicides, currently-used pesticides, lindane, atmospheric transport
