ABSTRACT- Environmental media (water and soil) at and near a fluoropolymer manufacturing facility (site) were sampled and perfluorooctanoate determined in order to understand the concentrations and distribution of perfluorooctanoate in these environmental media and to evaluate its transport pathways from the site to environmental media. Analytical and sampling methods were developed and analytical methods validated at the 1ug/mL (LOQ) in soil and 25 ng/L (LOQ) in water. The data suggest that perfluorooctanoate air emissions from the site are deposited in the well field and migrate through the soil into the aquifer.
