(244) Misconcepts in Kinetic Analysis of Pesticide Degradation.

ABSTRACT- A critical review of environmental fate chapters contained in European Draft Monographs has been carried out with a set of 70 draft monographs. Various misconcepts have been detected in the interpretation of experimental data from soil and water degradation studies. These misconcepts may produce incorrect calculation of predicted environmental concentrations used for ecological risk assessment. These issues must be clarified in order to address the exposure assesment required by Uniform Principles on environmental protection expressed in Directive 91/414/EEC.
