ABSTRACT- The environmental consultancy Randa Group performed four LCAs studies of different cosmetic products elaborated in the company Antonio Puig S.A. The studied products were a gel, a face cream, a perfume and an Eau de Toilette. The Eau de Toilette evaluated was Eau de Toilette 212 for men of Carolina Herrera. The Life Cycle Analysis was carried out in accordance with the International Standard ISO 14040. The life cycle inventory includes the stages of materials manufacture, production, use, maintenance and final disposal of packaging wastes. The assessment method is based on the methodology by CML. The first conclusion of this study is that the packaging is the main responsible part of the environmental impact of the product. In fact, the packaging represents the 78% of the product weight. This point is very important because although it is not possible to modify the present design, it will be possible to consider the results of the study in future packaging designs. In addition, most of the secondary packaging is not necessary and it should be eliminated. Antonio Puig is using this study to implement different ecodesign options in their products
