ABSTRACT- The environmental consultancy Randa Group performed a LCA study of a Bank Office. This study was an assignment of SUMASA, a Spanish company that is responsible for the construction of bank offices of La Caixa, an important financial company in Spain. The information provided by the study was used to decide the environmental policy of the company. It also helped to increase the firm's actual knowledge about these offices and suggested improvements and modifications on the current design. At the same time, the study evaluated different construction options, considering environmental, economic and social criteria of sustainable development. This evaluation should facilitate the decision making for choosing between different construction options. The concept of Life Cycle Analysis was used for comparing the environmental impact of several construction materials with the same utility or function along the entire life cycle. The Life Cycle Analysis was carried out in accordance with the International Standard ISO 14040. The life cycle inventory includes the stages of materials manufacture, construction, use, maintenance and final disposal of different construction wastes. The assessment method based on the methodology by CML. Generally, the highest impact is caused during the use stage because of the energy consumption in lights and heating.
