ABSTRACT- The Zaporozie reservoir has greatest technogenic loading among Dniepropetrovsk. This is the reservoir of complex utilization. Industrial and other sewers flows in there. Different pollutes get in the reservoir from the adjoining areas and with water from reservoirs situated upstream. Pesticides and heavy metals stand out among these pollutes owing to their toxic influence. Last time radioactive and chemical pollution evoking biology effect on different levels have increased. We have researched levels of some pollutes and defined their joint influence on quality of water. Pesticides have called forth the heavy situation in the reservoir. However their quantity in water often changed and were not subjected to normal distribution. Season's and space distribution of heavy metals was different. Mn concentration increase from spring to autumn achieving to 77 mkg/l. Higher Zn concentration in littoral of high reservoir part and in mouths of small rivers in conditioned by getting of flowing water. Cu, Pb, Co and Cd concentration in water have not exceed 6.0 mkg/l. Radionuclides concentration (Cs-137, Sr-90) was 2.0-3.6 times more then their concentration in 1985. We have noted lowering of heavy metals level from upper to lower part of reservoir. We have fixed high concentration of all pollutes in bottom deposits. The highest their quantity was founded in silt of middle and lower parts of reservoir being potential source of second polluting. Last summer we have determined the general toxicity of water by the biotesting method being integral for fixation the joint influence of all pollutes. During all seasons water in upper part of reservoir and in small rivers was more toxic then water of its rest parts. Absence the lowering of general water toxicity at Dniepropetrovsk summer is connected with the depression of natural purification processes.
Key words: radionuclidy, pesticides, heavy metals
