ABSTRACT- Many pesticidal compounds directly affect a broad spectrum of taxa, well beyond the target range. This breadth can, for example, span invertebrates and vertebrates for neurotoxic materials. Compounds that are designed to kill primary producers may have indirect effects in ecosystems and also direct effects on non-target organisms including animal taxa. This paper will explore the ecotoxicological effects of the herbicide trichlopyr in forest, stream and riparian zone habitats, and consider the degree to which available data may be used to estimate the potential impact of herbicides on biodiversity in forest habitats in the Pacific Northwest
Key words: Biodiversity, Stream , Riparian, Invertebrate
