ABSTRACT- A revised comparative risk analysis of the antifouling biocides tributyltin, Irgarol®, Sea-Nine® and Pyrithione is presented. As in a previously published study, the five risk indicators release, spatiotemporal range, bioaccumulation, biological activity and uncertainty are used for the evaluation. The latest results of a global steady-state fate model are used for the assessment of the spatiotemporal range indicator. The indicator evaluation is now based on literature data, modelling results and expert opinions. Special emphasis is placed on adequate assessment and communication of evaluation uncertainties. An interactive web-site provides comfortable public access to assessment results, rationales and underlying data.
