(78-05) Complex Environmental Assessment of the Life Quality in the Urban Environment.

ABSTRACT- When assessing urban socio-ecological conditions, one of the most important criterion is the quality of life, because it explains some of the most relevant human interactions within the city. In Mogilev city (Belarus) casual studies were carried out to prove the above stated idea. The following groups of indexes have been used to evaluate life quality: natural environmental conditions; building factors; social conditions; medical features. An order of the environmental assessment conditions can be described as the following: analysis of the natural conditions (geological, geomorphological, climatic, soil, floristic); assessment of the human impact (transformation of the geological environment, chemical contamination and transformation of the phytocenosis) on the natural environment; assessment of the natural ecosystems stability; superposition of the human impact indexes on different ecosystems stability indexes and integration of these parameters. Built up areas with the same living conditions have been arranged in the following groups: historical buildings; stalin type buildings; chruschiov type buildings; multi-storied buildings of the new districts; buildings of the working settlements; privately owned one-storied building s (as a rule wooden one); modern one-storied buildings (as a rule stone one); industrial buildings. Social conditions have been described through the index of publishness (describes spatial distribution of the socially relevant objects) assessment. Child illnesses have been chosen as a clearly pronounced medicine index. The picture of life quality spatial distribution has been done through the synthesis of the above stated indexes.
