3C - Fate and effects of TBT (WEP/168) Bioaccumulation of TBT and effects on steroid levels in marine mussels. Devier, Marie-helene1, Augagneur, Sylvie 1, Budzinski, Helene 1, Garrigues, Philippe1, 1 Universite de Bordeaux 1, Talence, France, France ABSTRACT- TBT and derived compounds have been measured in marine mussels under controled exposure and in selected natural sites in the Arcachon Bay ( Arcachon, France). Uptake and epuration of tin compounds has been studied and levels of steroid (testosterone, progesterone , etc..) have been determined according to TBT exposures. Physiological parameters such as condition index, lipid contents and seasonal variations of TBT contents have been also determined. Possible correlations between these parameters will be presented.
