ABSTRACT- In November 1992, the SETAC North America Board of Directors approved the formation of a new advisory group focused on advancing the scientific underpinnings of Ecological Risk Assessment (ERA). Over the last decade, the SETAC NA Ecological Risk Assessment Advisory Group (ERAAG) has served the SETAC membership by providing a number of valuable mechanisms to critically focus on ecological risk assessment issues. Through the efforts of work groups the advisory group has been able to develop a series of workshops on subjects such as the use of ERA for Contaminated Sediments and publish those proceedings. A number of valuable technical sessions have been coordinated at the annual SETAC NA meeting, including debates, Interactive posters and platform sessions. A number of these sessions were in partnership with the SETAC NA Life Cycle Assessment Advisory group. As well, through the dedicated effort of its members an ERAAG web page sits on the SETAC web site and a standing column on ERA news in the SETAC Globe both providing valuable service to the SETAC members. In the next 10 years, this tradition should continue. The column in the Globe will continue, the web page is continuing to evolve and workgroups are actively planning efforts focused on 1) valuation of ecological resources, 2) ERA at the Population level and 3) Science and the Precautionary Principle. These workgroup activities will result in workshops and dialogue activities in 2003. This poster will provide more detail on the activities over the period 1993 - 2002
