Global Partners in Sexual Health: New York & Namibia. Through the lens of human rights (the basic standards to which every person is entitled regardless of class, race, ability, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, religion, place of birth or citizenship) this brief presentation will serve as the International premier of a short 2004 documentary film created during a cultural exchange visit about global sexual health issues via the Global Partnership of Planned Parenthood in Ithaca, New York and the Namibian Planned Parenthood Association in Africa. Participants will: 1.View documentary about key sexual health issues in Namibia (HIV/AIDS, orphans, sex education, peer education, abortion, womens rights, sexual minorities). 2.Learn about the successes and challenges facing sexual, reproductive and LGBT rights organizations in Namibia, Africa. 3.Gain advocacy tools. Sexual rights are human rights. When and whether to have children; whom we love; how we seek consensual sexual pleasure, it is up to us! We must act with thought and passion as we educate and advocate for an increased understanding of sexual rights as a vital human rights issue.
