Benner, Autumn*,1, 1, 1 Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN, USA

ABSTRACT- Active learning is an effective tool for helping students learn and retain information presented in the college classroom. Active learning breaks away from the standard lecture / note taking format and allows students to make an immediate application of knowledge; helping them retain information. This presentation will demonstrate how active learning has been applied to teach a college human sexuality course, and to teach the human sexuality section of introductory courses. The presentation also will demonstrate how active learning has been used to train future teachers of human sexuality.
