Using active learning to teach a college human sexuality course. Benner, Autumn*,1, 1, 1 Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN, USA ABSTRACT- Active learning is an effective tool for helping students learn and retain information presented in the college classroom. Active learning breaks away from the standard lecture / note taking format and allows students to make an immediate application of knowledge; helping them retain information. This presentation will demonstrate how active learning has been applied to teach a college human sexuality course, and to teach the human sexuality section of introductory courses.
