Successful Workplace Trainings on Homosexuality and Transsexuality.

ABSTRACT- This presentation highlights a very successful model used in corporate settings in which employees learn to respond professionally to gay and transgender workplace issues. Brian McNaught is a certified sexuality educator who has been engaged in public education about sexual orientation for thirty years. Today, his principle clients are Wall Street firms in New York and London which he assists in their goals of attracting and retaining the best and brightest employees. His two-hour presentation enables the participants, mostly managers and other executives, to understand and address their discomfort with the topic, recognize the problems, experience first hand the challenges faced by gay and transgender people in the workplace, and learn language and skills to enhance their abilities to respond effectively. Named the "godfather of gay sensitivity training" by the New York Times, Brian is the author of three watershed books on gay issues, and is featured in five video presentations, three of which have aired reguarly on PBS affiliates. His newest book, "Sex Camp" provides guidelines for conducting trainings in the workplace, as well as covers a variety of topics in human sexuality, including values, lifestyles, orientation, gender identity, intimacy, abuse, aging, and disability.
