Incidence of Vaginal Infection Among Female Adolescents.

ABSTRACT- The aim of the study was to evaluate the incidence of vaginal infections among sexually active female adolescents. Material and methods: Gynecological examination, microbiology examination, vaginal and cervical smears were performed. Results: Out of 115 female adolescents, 96(83,5%) were sexually active. The commonest vaginal infections was Candida in 50(52%) patients. 46 patients had mixed bacterial infection with Escherichia colli, Gardnerella vaginalis and etc. All sexually active female adolescents were free of vaginal infection. Conclusion: We can conclude that sexual activity increases the incidence of vaginal infections among female adolescents. So regular gynecological examinations are recommended for these patients.
