Aten Primaria 2004;34:286-292), self-administered, of 14 questions and fast accomplishment (5-10 minutes), validating in Spanish. Descriptive statistic was made, bivariant and multivariant analysis (Stepwise Backward) using statistical package SPSS v. 11; used techniques: t-Student and 2 of Pearson). Results: 212 women include themselves, of average age 40,5±10,9 years, all of them with sexual activity. Overall prevalence of SD: 27,4%. Prevalence of SD in the different dominions of sexual activity: Affectation of desire: 16,5% of the women; affectation of the excitation: 13,2%; problems with the lubrication: 14,2%; problems of orgasm: 9,4%; problems with the vaginal penetration: 5,2% (without differentiating between dyspareunia and vaginismus); anticipated anxiety to the sexual activity: 7,5%. Average age of the women with SD: 44,8±11,2 and without SD 38,9± 10,4 (t=-3,54, p<0,001). By professions: greater prevalence of SD between the housewives (41.95% of them) and the services sector (26.8% of them) 2 =10,95, p<0,05); smaller prevalence between agricultural and industrial workers, sanitary personnel, education personnel and students. The SD frequency is increased according to descends the level from studies (2=22,8, p<0,001). Smaller frequency of sexual activity between the women with SD (2=18,9, p<0,001). The sexual disorder usually affects to more of a dominion (p<0,001). Conclusions: The overall prevalence of SD is 27,4%. The WSF questionnaire that follows the criteria of the DSM-IV-TR proposes a new model to approach the "sexual disorders by pain", by means of a new dominion: "problems with the vaginal penetration", which does not discriminate between dyspareunia and vaginismus.
