Sexual Practices and Death Attitudes in The Adolescence.

ABSTRACT- OBJETIVES:To know the relationship between the sexual behaviors and the Death Attitude Profile-Revised (DAP-R). MATERIAL AND METHODS:Descriptive traverse study with a population of 595 girls and 533 boys, until 19 years old, students in public and private schools of Galician (Spain). They made the DAP-R and a structures, voluntary and anonymous questinnaire about social data and sexual behaviors. We made the analysis of data with SPSS 11.1 for Windows. RESULTS:Half age is 17.16 years old (SD=1.047). 595 is woman. 96.5% is single. 60.3% studies in public school, 17.4% in private school. 529 began sexual practices. 7.4% started the coitus after 18 years old. In the last year 15.5% had coitus 3 or more times/a week and 14.9% had two couples. 8.69% used pill/IUD. We studied the significant differences between sexual risk and death attitudes: Fear to death (Factor 1), Evitacion of the death (Factor 2), Neutral acceptance (Factor 3), Acceptance of approach (Factor 4) and Escape acceptance (Factor 5). We find significant differences between the age of the first coitus (p<0.01), the used protection method(p<0.01) and total puntuation DAP-R. CONCLUSIONS:These results should be considered in any program about General and Sexual Healt that we develop with adolescent.
