ABSTRACT- Objective: To evaluate the impact of long-acting testosterone injection on DHT level in serum in our clientele comprising 61 patients under Nebido„§ i.m. in a three-month period. Material & Methods: A retrospective analysis of 58 patients under Nebido„§ i.m. in a three-month period. Patients received injections according to the therapy protocol on day 1 and week 6. Three patients with primarily elevated DHT level over 600 ng/ltr. were excluded (DHT normal range: 36 ˇV 573 ng/ltr., Architec Abbott). The 58 patients underwent blood controls for total testosterone and DHT in week 6 and week 12 under Nebido„§i.m.Results: Level of total testosterone were within the normal physiological values in the whole patients in week 12 between 4 and 8.6 ng/ml (Architec Abbott). DHT level in these patients was measured in week 6 and 12 varying between 86 and 511 ng/ltr. (normal range: 35.7 ˇV 573 ng/ltr., Architec Abbott). Conclusion:In this short period of time we did not notice any increase or elevation in the DHT level exceeding the physiological threshold. All patients are still under usual follow-up three-monthly. Integral reports would follow. We put the other three patients with primary elevated DHT under Nebido„§ i.m. in combination with DUTASTERIDE for prostate protection.
