ABSTRACT- OBJECTIVES: the aim of the study is to explore sexual life of men with erectile dysfunction (E.D), to evaluate its psychological impact and relationship with partners. METHODS: Till now sixty patients with ED were included from urology consultation at university hospital ibn rushd in casablanca, the study is still on going. They were requested to respond to a hetero-questionnaire (the passation of this instrument was performed by 2 trained resident in psychiatry interviewers) collecting details on demography, socio-economic and marital status, disease, drugs, and habits, in addition to sexual activity. Depression, anxiety and partner relationship were explored respectively by The Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, Hamilton depression rating scale (HDRS), Hamilton anxiety rating scale (HARS) and the Locke Wallace marital adjustment test (LWMAT). RESULTS: The first results shows that the mean age was 56 years old, 90 % were married and 66% were without job. Concerning sexual activity, 70% of the interviewed were unsatisfied versus 61 % for their partners. In the six past months, 68% had less than the desired sexual intercourse frequency and 34% reported that they have any orgasm. Concerning psychological state, we found that 10 % had a depression with high intensity in 20% of cases, and 14 % an anxiety. On the other hand, 32% had less than 80 at LWMAT. More results will be discussed during the presentation. CONCLUSIONS: A limited sexual satisfaction, a low frequency of sexual intercourse act negatively on psychological state and those data are important for the whole treatment.
