ABSTRACT- Councelling is one of the most important ways of psychological and social sciences intervention. The telephonic is a particular typology of counselling: it is a helpful relationship with specific characteristics. The article describes the experience of the telephonic Service called SOS PSICOLOGIA, open by the Associazione Italiana di Sessuologia Clinica of Rome (Italy). The purpose of the reserch is the users description, through the analysis of the first one-thousand calls (from the 1st of October 2001 to the 13th of June 2003). The following has been analyzed: 1 Analysis of the question: how a person reaches the Service, who asks for help and for whom, the expectation of the users towards the psychologist and the Service. 2 Typology of the users: age, sex, civil status etc. 3 The operator's answers: listening/support, guidance/counselling, information, referral.
