Sexual and reproductive health in youths mexican. The generation of juvenile politics agrees that the demands of the youths of the state of Yucatan is of most importance. An observational, quantitative suty was applied to 405 youths between the ages of 12 and 29 in the sate of Yucatan. The study consisted of questionnaire with 5 subjets. Results. The young knowledges reported was 80% to know at least one anticonceptive method. It was notable that many men and women know to prevent STDs and HIV-AIDS. At the beginning of the study 35% of the youths had alredy had sexual relations. The active sex life was between 15 and 19 years of age. Most of the youths said their firs sexual relationships was with a friend; 51.4% of the total of the youths who have had sexual relations have used anticontraceptive methods. The most frequently used methods were, condoms (45%), the pill (30%) and the rest referred to a wide variety of the methods. Those youths who had not had sexual relations gave reasons such as virginity, religion, waiting for the perfect partner and love. Conclusions. Yucatecan youths have information on anticontracetive methods and the way to prevent STDs and HIV,AIDS, however only half of them udes a condom in their first sexual relationship. It is common for this group of yucatecan youths to have a girlfriend or boyfriend from the age of 15. An adecuate sexual education is opportune from an earlier age. Key words: vera |
