Adolescents peer educators on sexual health and HIV/AIDS: a Cuban experience.

ABSTRACT- This paper deals with different issues related to HIV/AIDS and adolescents Sexual Health. These are the results of research conducted in Cuba based on the peer educators strategy through the program, How do I show you that I love you. The program was designed to promote both resilience and transformative leadership amongst youngsters, aiming to reduce the gap between information on sexual health and HIV/AIDS and sexual behaviour. For this purpose, a diagnosis on learning needs was conducted amongst adolescents and youngsters, using focus groups and questionnaires. We will show some results obtained after implementing this program in adolescents and youngsters groups. Some of the themes to be presented are adolescents rights, HIV/AIDS prevention and health promotion.
